Hume City produced its best performance of the National Premier League on Saturday against Moreland City.
Having won just one game for the season, Hume was hoping for a break out match to kick start its season.
Moreland City got on the scoreboard first in the 38th minute, before Dylan McGlade levelled the scores for Hume three minutes later.
Jawad Rezai came off the bench and made an impact, giving Hume the lead in the 68th minute.
It would be the first of four goals scored within a nine minute period. Brandon Lauton made it 3-1 for Hume and it was soon 4-1 when Josh Bingham also found the back of the net.
James Hooper converted a penalty to reduce the margin back to 4-2.
Rezai scored his second late, to seal the 5-2 win for Hume.
Hume now sits sixth after seven rounds, with two wins, three draws and two losses.
Hume is back in action on Wednesday night in the fourth round of the Australia Cup.
Hume will host Doncaster Rovers.
