Keon Park was the big winner across the Diamond Valley Cricket Association shield competitions on Saturday.
All matches in the three competitions went ahead, but only Keon Park and Thomastown’s match was completed.
All the other matches were abandoned mid-match as temperatures hit the high 30s and low 40s on Saturday afternoon.
In the Mash Shield, Thomastown United made 122 after winning the toss and deciding to bat.
Dean Crockett top scored with 55 as just one other batter reached double figures.
Keon Park got the runs within 19 overs, finishing 2-128. Michael White finished 57 not out at the top of the order.
In other matches, Rivergum was on top of Old Ivanhoe Grammarians.
The Kookas had the Grammarians in trouble at 4-63 in reply to 5-240.
Panton Hill was well on the way to victory against Laurimar as it needed 53 runs with eight wickets in hand.
South Morang was 4-86 in reply to Dennis’ 9-182 while Thomastown was 1-70 in reply to Mill Park’s 6-211.
In the Money Shield, Mernda was 2-65 in reply to Lalor Stars’ 9-208.
Meanwhile Epping was on its way to victory in the Barclay Shield against Rosebank.
The Pingers were 1-72 in reply to 136.
Bundoora was 5-73 in reply to Riverside’s 4-265.
Bundoora United and Heidelberg’s match will be played on Monday.
