Greenvale Kangaroos are on the board in Victorian Premier Cricket knocking off a strong Richmond side on Saturday.
After going close to breaking through the previous round, the Kangaroos were able to hold their composure after a couple of scares to get the job done on Saturday.
The Kangaroos sent Richmond in who started off well and were cruising at 1-92. The Kangaroos bowlers found another level and the wickets started to fall, with Richmond bowled out for 151 in the final over.
Darcy Bell took three wickets for the Kangaroos.
The Kangaroos lost the early wicket of Josh Trembearth before they steadied to be 1-84. The Kangaroos then lost 4-7 to slip to 5-91.
The Kangaroos were able to steady and despite losing three late wickets were able to do enough, finishing 8-152.
The run chase was timed to perfection, with the Kangaroos hitting the winning runs one over remaining. Connor Hayes top scored 58 at the top of the order, while Michael Archer chipped in with a handy 23 later in the innings.
The Kangaroos now sit 16th on the ladder, with the two teams below them without a win after the first five rounds.
This week they face an inform Northcote this Saturday.
