Greenvale get it done in the last

Greenvale was made to fight for victory against West Coburg in Essendon District Football League premier division.

The Jets entered the game as warm favourites, but they didn’t have it all their own way.

West Coburg stuck with them all day and even led by a point at the last break, before the Jets kicked three goals to one in the final quarter to grab a 9.7 (61)-7.8 (50) win.

Kurtis Sanajko kicked a third of the Jets goals and was named their best. Fabian Deluca and Aaron Mansfield were also strong for the Jets.

The win keeps the Jets in second spot, four points behind Maribyrnong Park.

The two sides will feature in a top-of-the-table clash this weekend.

Tullamarine remains undefeated in division 1 after a big win against East Keilor.

The Demons started slow, with the Cougars leading by 11 points at half-time.

The Demons opened the game up in the third quarter with nine goals to one giving them plenty of breathing space heading into the last quarter.

After the high-scoring third term, things were a lot quieter in the last, with the Demons scoring the only two goals as they grabbed a 15.12 (102)-6.16 (52) win.

Craigieburn returned to the winners’ list after two losses, notching a big win against Oak Park.

The Eagles won every quarter on the way to the 20.15 (135)-8.9 (57) victory.

Dean Limbach continued his good form, kicking eight goals to lead from the front of the Eagles.

Joshua Marino was named best on ground.

Jacana had a disappointing day, losing to Taylors Lakes 20.10 (130-8.13 (61).

Roxburgh Park pulled off the upset of the round in division 2, knocking off previously unbeaten Moonee Valley.

It was a even contest all day, with Roxburgh Park getting across the line 12.9 (81)-11.12 (78).

The win keeps Roxburgh Park cemented in the top four and four points shy of the top two.
