Greenvale was over-run by a classy Keilor side in Essendon District Football League Premier division at the weekend.
In a high class match between two teams in the top three, it was the Blues who finished the game stronger to claim the 12.5 (77)-10.8 (68) win.
The Blues, who remain undefeated, came from multiple goals behind twice in the second half, to get the win.
Jets coach Paul Chapman said it was a high quality game of football.
“We got a lead in the third quarter, but they were able to over-run us,” he said.
“Keilor were able to scrap their way back into the game.
“We could have been stronger in some areas which we will work on. We’ll be better for the run and I’m pretty happy and proud of the boys.”
Chapman said the most pleasing thing was that everyone contributed at some stage.
Jacob Thompson was the only multiple goalkicker for the Jets, with four goals.
“I could reel off 20 names in the best,” Chapman said.
“Everyone played their role. Fabian Deluca was good, as was Nick Maric and Jacob Thompson had nine scoring shots, Courtenay Dempsey was good up forward, Daniel Micevski and Josh Smith were all good as well.”

The loss is the Jets second of the season, having lost to second-placed Aberfeldie.
Chapman said the margins in both those games showed they were on the right track.
“The two losses we’ve had this year, we’ve been super competitive.
“We put ourselves in positions to win both games and weren’t good enough in the end.
“We’ll take a lot out of it. Next time we play them, we have to be better for longer.”
With the Jets sitting third, Chapman said he was happy with how the season had panned out. He said they know they still have a lot of improvement to come.
“We’re not looking too far ahead, we’re taking it each week as it comes.
“We’re looking at us and how we can better ourselves.
“Every week we take another step in the level of footy we are playing. At the end of the year, we’ll be in better form than now and who knows where that will take us.”
Chapman said injury-wise they were sitting in a good position at this time of the year.
Nicholas Parthenopoulos, who has yet to play a senior game this season, has played the past two weeks in the reserves and is pushing for a return.
The Jets have this weekend off, with a competition wide bye due to the Queen’s Birthday weekend.
They then face Strathmore, who sit fifth, a game behind the Jets.
“It’s another dangerous game,” Chapman said.
“Greenvale and Strathmore match up really well against each other.”
In division 1, Tullamarine sits a game clear on top after a hard fought victory against Hillside.
The Demons won by two goals, 13.13 (91)-11.13 (79).
Craigieburn lost its second game of the season, going down to East Keilor.
Westmeadows returned to the winners’ list, beating Roxburgh Park.
