Finalists locked in

The finalists are locked in for the Diamond Valley Cricket Association Mash Shield Summer Smash competition.

White there is one game remaining in the pool matches, the top two in both pools are locked in.

In pool A, Mernda and South Morang secured their finals spots on Tuesday night.

Mernda proved too strong in its match with Hurstbridge.

Hurstbridge was restricted to 9-77 from its overs, with Stuart Wright taking four wickets for the Demons.

The Demons got the runs with more than four overs remaining, finishing 4-78. Nathan Aston top scored with 21 not out.

The Demons won all four of their pool matches.

South Morang got its third win of the competition, beating Laurimar.

The Power made 8-106 from its overs with Harley Boland top scoring with 26.

Ricky Lee took two wickets for the Lions.

The Lions had little trouble in the run chase, finishing 5-107.

Terry Liddicutt made 27 not out.

Dennis cemented its spot in pool B with victory against Rivergum.

The Kookas were restricted to 8-110 with Jarrod Bannister continuing his good form, making 47.

Dennis was able to get the runs with an over to space, finishing 3-113.

Despite the loss, the Kookas will still finish in second spot.

In the other pool B match on Tuesday night, Mill Park beat Thomastown.

Thomastown made 4-147 before Mill Park reached it with 10 balls remaining, finishing 6-151.

In the Money Shield, Eltham and Lower Plenty will play finals in pool A.

In pool B, finals spots will go down to the final match.

Bundoora Park sits on top and needs just a win against Rosbank In the final round.

Plenty and Lalor Stars are equal on points and will both go through if Bundoora Park loses.

The Stars kept their finals hopes alive with a win against Rosebank on Tuesday night.

In the Barclay Shield, a win on Tuesday will ensure Bundoora play finals.

The Bulls currently sit in second spot, ahead of Bundoora United which is on the same points, but has played one more game.
