Epping to host division 1 finals

Northern Football League division 1 finals are on the move this season.

The league announced on Wednesday that division 1 finals this season would be played at Epping Recreation Reserve.

In recent times, all division 1 finals have been played at Preston City Oval, along with women’s grand finals.

Venues for the men’s division 2 and division 3 finals series, including their respective grand finals, will be confirmed in the coming days, alongside the announcement of the of the women’s divisions grand final venue.

The league announced that there would be no price increase for finals this season.

“In a strong show of support for players, clubs, and patrons, the NFNL has frozen admission prices for the third consecutive year, with no price increase for any ticketed finals match in 2025.

“In addition, the admission fee for the NFNL grand finals will remain unchanged from 2024, ensuring continued value for fans on the competition’s biggest day.

In a significant initiative to promote and grow women’s football, all lead-up women’s finals matches will be free of charge, encouraging more supporters to attend and celebrate the achievements of women’s teams across the league and removing financial barriers.

The NFNL can also confirm that all junior football and netball finals series matches, including grand finals, will remain completely free of charge.

League chief executive Martin Stillman said the league’s approach this year is grounded in the belief that cost should not be a barrier to enjoying grassroots football and netball at the highest level.

“We understand the ongoing cost-of-living pressures facing many families.” Mr Stillman said.

“That’s why we’ve frozen admission fees and beverage prices again in 2025 and are absorbing all card transaction fees.
