Epping has announced coaches as it prepares to field a women’s side in the Northern Football League for the first time next season.

The Pingers announced on social media that Sarah Scheggia would be their inaugural coach with Travis Holmberg to be their assistant coach.

“Sarah Scheggia has played football for 10 years and over 150 games,” the club said on social media.

“She comes to us with experience as both head and assistant coach. Sarah is extremely passionate about women’s football, and is excited and looking forward to the 2024 season.

“Travis is a very talented and smart footballer. Usually playing as a key forward or just as comfortable playing in the ruck.

“Travis made his senior debut at 18. He joined Epping in 2022 until injury has stopped him.

“[We’re] looking forward to seeing Sarah and Travis develop the women into a successful team.”

There are 21 teams in the NFL women’s competition this season.
