Epping City’s up and down season continues in FFV state league 3 north-west soccer.

After a strong 2-1 win against La Trobe University the previous round, City was hoping for victory against Fawkner to keep the pressure on the top teams.

Instead, they had to settle for a point, with neither team able to find the back of the net in the 0-0 result.

City sits fifth on the ladder, nine points behind leaders Brimbank Stallions and four points behind second-placed Williamstown.

Third placed Whittlesea United recorded a 4-1 win against FC Strathmore and La Trobe University bounced back with a 3-2 win against Upfield.

In state league 2 north-west, Sporting Whittlesea had a 2-1 win against Moreland United and Hume United scored a 3-2 win against second-placed Altona City.

The win move Sporting Whittlesea into seventh spot, while United moves ahead of Altona City and into second.

In state league 4 north, Greenvale United had a 3-3 draw with Darebin United, Lalor United enjoyed a 3-0 win against Brunswick Zebras and Mill Park defeated Northern Falcons 2-1.

Lalor United, which was relegated last season, remains on top of the ladder, five points clear of Boroondara-Carey Eagles.

In state league 5 north, ladder leader Craigieburn City enjoyed a goal feast against Reservoir Yeti, winning 10-1 win. Taner Altanhan, Ubeyde Cicek and Jordan Connerton scored three goals apiece.

Bundoora United had an impressive 6-0 win against Keon Park, while Plenty Valley Lions had a 3-3 draw with Moreland Eagles and Campbellfield Lions lost to Heidelberg Eagles 4-1.
