Craigieburn Eagles are hoping to get a big crowd at Eagles Stadium on Saturday night as they kick off their Big V division 2 men’s finals campaign.
The Eagles had the opening week of finals off after finishing three games clear on top of the ladder.
Bolstered by the recruitment of American guard Lewayne Grant, plus a mixture of some well-placed recruitment and local talent, coach Tim Annett has had a successful season finishing with 15 wins and only three losses for the season.
Now the focus shifts to finals with the Eagles to host the first semi-final at The Nest against the Mildura Heat, which finished second.
A grand final spot is on the line.
On the same night, the club is hosting a “Back to the Nest” function which is to celebrate and welcome back to the club all past players, coaches, officials, life members and committee members.
This will be a celebration of the history of Craigieburn Basketball Association and a trip down memory lane.
With the stadium extension due to open in three weeks the nest is growing from strength to strength and the club feels it is super important to remember and celebrate the achievements who helped grow the club from humble beginnings in 1977.
The club will be offering a prize of $250 for anyone who can shoot a successful basket from the half-court as part of a raffle.
The semi final starts at 7pm on August 10.
Tickets must be booked at www.trybooking.com/CTYJX or through the club’s social media account.
