Aberfeldie has boosted its list with another former AFLW player for the Essendon District Football League women’s premier division season.
After announcing the signing of former North Melbourne player Tahni Nestor, Abers has put in a clearance for Jess Duffin.
Duffin played 42 games for Collingwood, North Melbourne and Hawthorn having also played cricket for Australia internationally.
She can play either end of the field.
Duffin, who grew up in Melbourne’s west, was at Collingwood the same time star forward Mo Hope, while Duffin and Abers co-coach Emily Smith played cricket against each other.
Hope, who won the EDFL women’s premier best and fairest and goal kicking last year, said on her social media she would be returning for year two and she loves the club.
On the other side, Ellie Huggard has put in a clearance to join rival Oak Park.
Abers claimed the minor premiership last year before exciting finals in straight sets.
The clearance of Duffin is the latest in a number of former AFLW players joining the competition.
Former Carlton captain Kerryn Peterson is joining Maribyrnong Park, while a clearance for former Western Bulldog and Bomber Ellyse Gamble has been lodged by the Lions.
North Melbourne premiership defender Sarah Wright is set to join her twin sister Gemma Wright at Westmeadows, while former Geelong players Caitlin Thorne and Abbey McDonald have signed with Strathmore and Hillside respectively.
