Drinkwell stands down at Laurimar

Laurimar is seeking a new head coach with premiership winning coach Adam Drinkwell standing down from the Diamond Valley Cricket Association club.

Drinkwell was the Power’s head coach the last two seasons, leading the club to a Mash Shield premiership in 2021-22, after the club had previously gone so close.

“The Laurimar Cricket Club is incredibly grateful to Adam for all the time and effort that he has put in over the past two seasons that included the first XI winning Mash Shield in season 2021-22 and getting promoted to Money Shield this season,” the club said on social media.

“Third XI and sixth XI premierships in season 2021-22 in season 2021-22 with fingers crossed for some more senior grade premierships next month, and also the introduction of the Laurimar Junior Academy which has seen a large number of junior cricketers improve their cricket and also start their senior cricket journey.

“On behalf of the committee and all players we would like to thank Adam for his huge contribution to the club and hope to see him in the black and teal as a player for season 2023-24.”

The Power’s first XI will finish its season on Saturday in a one-dayer against Plenty.

The Power sit second bottom and can’t slip lower, meaning they will stay up in the Money Shield for at least another season.

The club has advertised the role, saying it is open to playing or non-playing coaches.
