Dockerty Cup draws revealed

The magic of the cup is set to get underway with the draws for the first two rounds of the Dockerty Cup revealed.

The rounds that double as Australia Cup matches were drawn on Wednesday afternoon with the competition to start the weekend of February 16.

The first round includes regional clubs and clubs from state league 3, 4 and 5. Teams from state league 2 and state league 1 teams come in for the second round.

Regional club Bacchus Marsh Scorpions vs Heidelberg United

Point Cook has drawn West Point, with Jets new coach Tome Petreski to face his old side first up.

Gisborne is on the road against Moreland Eagles, while new state league 5 side Newport Storm will face state league 3 side Altona North.

Maidstone United has drawn Somerville Eagles, while Plenty Valley Lions are at home to Birrarung.

Barnstoneworth has drawn Alphington away, while Melbourne City is also away to Maryborough. Diamond Valley United will face Hoppers Crossing and Spring Hills will travel to face Bell Park.

Old Ivanhoe and Truganina Hornets have been drawn to face each other, while Doreen United will face White Star Dandenong.

In other match ups, Bundoora United will play West Preston, Meadow Park will play Knox United, Sunbury United has drawn Hampton Park United Sparrows, Epping City will take on neighbours Roxburgh Park and Keilor Wolves take on Rowville Eagles.

Greenvale United, Melton Phoenix, Footscray United Rangers, Westside Strikers, La Trobe University and Wyndham drew byes in the opening round.

Other clubs to come in for the second round include Lalor United, Yarraville Glory, Sydenham Park, Dallas City, Altona East Phoenix, Whittlesea Ranges, Upfield, Uni Hill Eagles, Western Eagles Brimbank Stallions and Westgate.
