Demons into top five

Tullamarine has moved into the Essendon District Football League division 1 top five, while Craigieburn’s tough run has continued with two key players leaving the club.

The Demons have managed to get their season back on track and with a win against Keilor Park on Saturday, bringing their season back to level.

The Demons had no issues at all against the Devils, winning 13.12 (90)-4.12 (36).

Austin Warden and Tim Matson were named the Demons best.

The Demons now sit a game clear of Craigieburn, Roxburgh Park and Oak Park.

They have a bye this week.

Craigieburn has now lost five games in a row, with a big loss against Maribyrnong Park.

The Eagles entered the game having lost two of their key players in Jake Carlisle and John Bellino both switching to join Wallan.

On field, the Eagles started well and matched Maribyrnong Park early.

The Eagles kicked just one goal after half time, while the Lions kicked 11 to run away with a 14.22 (106)-4.5 (29) win.

Mitchell Wilson and Blake Polley were named the Eagles best.

Roxburgh Park had the bye.

In premier division, Greenvale had a solid win against Deer Park.

The Jets were able to build throughout on the way to a 19.8 (122)-9.10 (64) win.

Baker Smith kicked four goals for the Jets.

Jonathan Keratianos, Jarryd Bonello and Daniel Trifunovic were named their best.

The Jets now have a two game break on sixth placed Essendon Doutta Stars.

In division 2, Westmeadows suffered a 14.10 (94)-10.10 (70) loss to Northern Saints.

The Tigers remain in third spot.
