Westmeadows has a red hot chance to upset a top four team, while Craigieburn’s top order again failed to fire in the return of the Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division.

The weather was perfect for cricket as sides returned to action in a two-dayer after the Christmas break.

Westmeadows has put itself in a good position against Yarraville Club.

The Warriors decided to bowl and it seemed a good position with the Clubbers 9-166 when they declared after 69 overs.

Tallan Wright took 3-22 for the Warriors, while three other players took two wickets each.

While the Warriors lost Clayton Campbell for a duck, they are in a good position at 1-10.

Craigieburn has its work cut out for it against Keilor.

The Blues were bowled out for 151 after deciding to bat with no one scoring more than 30.

Darren Wotu took 4-35 for the Eagles.

The Eagles top order crumbled and they were in trouble at 5-65 at the end of day one.

Benjamin Radford and Wotu are the not out batsmen and will both resume having not scored.

Tullamarine has a run chase on its hands against the Williamstown Imperials in the Steve McNamara Shield.

The top side put on a show with the bat as they made 435.

The Demons tried everything with the ball with nine players rolling the arm over.

Malith Nimanthaka and Johanne De Zilva took two wickets each.

In the Roy Picone Shield, the Greenvale Kangaroos are chasing Caroline Springs’ 250.

In the Russell Pollock Shield, Roxburgh Park is in a strong position against Wyndham Vale, while Jacana and Donnybrook have work to do.

The Falcons made 257 as they were bowled out in the 65th over.

Azadveer Singh made 98 for Roxburgh Park.

The Vales will resume at 1-13.

It was a day for the bowlers in Jacana’s match with Moonee Ponds.

Moone Ponds was bowled out for just 94 after being sent in.

Charith Jayarathne took 3-15 off 10 overs for the Jaguars.

The Jaguars also struggled with the bat and finished day one at 8-47.

Praneeth Jayasundara, who is 15 not out, will be the key man if the Jaguars are to get over the line.

Donnybrook was bowled out for 180 against St Andrew’s Footscray.

Mandeep singh Rangi top scored with 71.
