Craigieburn, Westmeadows looking for wins

Not much has separated Craigieburn and Westmeadows this season so it’s fitting that the battle for top spot remains well and truly alive heading into the final day of the Victorian Turf Cricket Association north-west A1 regular season.

Just 0.98 points separates the two teams, who are playing Glenroy and Pascoe Vale Hadfield respectively in the final round.

After day one, the Eagles and Warriors are in very similar situations.

The Eagles will resume at 1-4, chasing Glenroy’s 177.

Sikander Sharma was the pick of the bowlers for the Eagles, taking three wickets.

The Warriors will resume at 1-11, chasing Pascoe Vale Hadfield’s 180.

Danny Law took four wickets for the Warriors.

In senior division, Greenvale Kangaroos piled on the runs against Doutta Stars.

Anthony Barton top scored with 69 as the Kangaroos spread the runs around to make 8-301.

Four players, including No.10 Jacob Thompson, made 40 or more.

Tullamarine is 1-24 against Keilor.

Keilor made 105, with David Zahorodni taking 4-33.

In north A1, Roxburgh Park Falcons are on top after day one of their match against Caroline Springs.

The Falcons bowled Caroline Springs out for 168 and are 1-21 in reply.

Jacana is in trouble against Moonee Valley. The Jaguars are 6-75 in reply to Moonee Valley’s 189.
