Thomastown has announced its new coaching structure for the 2024 Northern Football League season.

The Bears have opted for a co-coaching approach that sees Sash Spiroski and David Folino take the helm.

Spiroski and Folino have played over 400 games at the club, including four premierships spanning across three decades.

Via social media the club said this will shape the future of the club.

“Sash has already demonstrated his coaching prowess this season by guiding our reserves team to their first grand final appearance since 2016,” it said.

“His dedication to the club and his strategic match day preparation was evident throughout the season, and we are excited to see how he will continue to develop our playing group.

“David served as senior assistant this season under the leadership of Peter Bugden and brings with him a wealth of Victorian Football League experience from his playing days.

“David’s commitment to getting the best out of himself as a player and person over his career will no doubt filter through to our playing group as they look to develop into the best players they can be into the future.

“What truly set Sash and David apart during a thorough selection process was not just their remarkable track record but also their unwavering preparation, unparalleled hunger for this role, and their shared desire to bring success and stability back to our senior team all while continuing to build and enhance our fantastic club culture.

“The appointment of Sash Spiroski and David Folino as our senior co-coaches marks a new chapter in the storied history of our club. With their leadership, we are confident that our club will rise to new heights in Season 2024 and beyond.”
