Gladstone Park’s growth throughout the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association George Luscombe Shield season, could result in a second straight premiership.
Having won the Vic Kyte Shield last season, the Burras quickly showed this season that they weren’t making up the numbers.
On Sunday the Burras won through to the grand final, beating the Chargers.
The Burras won the toss and sent the Chargers in at Jack Ginifer Reserve.
It proved to be the right decision early, with the Chargers in trouble at 4-25.
The Chargers were able to steady and with many of their lower order making contributions they pushed the score to 191.
They were bowled out in the 59th over.
Nathan Fitzpatrick took 5-33 off his 15 overs to be the pick of the bowlers for the Burras.
The Burras got off to a flier making 76 for the first wicket partnership.
Four quick wickets saw them slip to 4-88. The Burras were able to respond and were 7-206 when stumps were called.
Skipper Anthony Fawcus top scored with 69, while Wayne Telford made 51.
The Burras will face Buckley Park in the grand final, after it beat the Darebin Chargers.
Buckley Park made 312 before restricting the Darebin Chargers to 240.
The Burras second XI is also through to the Keith Stringer Shield grand final after beating Aberfeldie St Johns.
They will face the Chargers in the decider.
