The second Burn City Classic was a hit with more than 140 players taking to the court.
The event attracted players from across Melbourne including from Melbourne’s north-west.
Organiser Jonathan Maybank said it was really good to see as many players as possible come out and take to the court.
“It’s a big deal,” he said. “It’s an outdoor scene and normally on concrete.
“We were able to play it on FIBA floors. It meant a lot more people were keen to play and it upgrades the level of the players.”
Players from across the National Basketball League 1 and Big V competitions played, while there were some players with NBL experience.
There were some exhibitions games including a team from the Longhorns, which are based in Braybrook, before the actual tournament with 14 teams who had seven to eight players..
Maybank, who played Big V for both the Craigieburn Eagles and Whittlesea Pacers, said they want to make Glenroy and Melbourne’s north the home of the event.
He said they were hoping the event would grow even bigger next year.
