Bundoora RSL continues winning streak

Bundoora RSL is on a winning streak in the Bowls Victoria pennant weekend premier division competition.

Bundoora beat Yarraville Footscray winning three out of four rinks on Saturday.

Dean O’Neill (22-15 win), Josh Corless (19-18) and Ben Hubber (19-15) skipped their teams to victory for Bundoora.

Luke Aiello’s rink ended in a 17-17 all tie.

Bundoora won overall 77 (17)-65 (1).

The team, which is one of two undefeated teams, is set to play MCC this weekend. Bundoora sits atop the ladder, one point clear of Deer Park.

In division 1, section 1 Whittlesea won against Aberfeldie CBC.

The rinks were split between sides, each victorious in two with Whittlesea claiming the win 91 (14)-78 (4).

Whittlesea’s Nicholas McIntyre skipped his team to a dominant victory, 37-13.

Robert Millar skipped his team to victory for Whittlesea as well, with 21-20.

Aberfeldie beat Whittlesea in the other rinks, with 22-20 and 23-13.

Whittlesea are sitting in second place on the ladder, three points behind Moonee Valley.

Whittlesea will face Glenroy this weekend.

In the division 1, section 2 competition, Bundoora’s second side lost against Mooroolbark.

The two sides tied 19-19 in one rink, and Bundoora lost the three other rinks.

Bundoora lost, with the final score 84 (17)-64 (1).

Bundoora is set to face Fitzroy Victoria in the fourth round.

Whittlesea’s second side won against Warburton 86 (13)-85 (5) in a thriller.

Whittlesea won a single rink, with Geoffrey Aldous skipping his team to a victory, 38-11.

Warburton won two rinks, while the last rink was a tie, 21-21.

Whittlesea is set to play Donvale this weekend.
