Footscray opened its Vic Super Slam account with a big win against the Greenvale Kangaroos on Tuesday night.
After first up losses for both sides in the competition, both teams were keen to open their account at Mervyn Hughes Oval.
The Bulldogs won the toss and elected to bat, and put on more than 100 for the opening partnership.
Nathan Caulfield made the most of his chance at the top of the order making 57, batting alongside Bulldogs T20 captain Dylan Brasher, who made 50.
The Bulldogs finished with 2-164 from their overs.
William Dundon was the only wicket taker for the Kangaroos, taking one.
The Kangaroos lost an early wicket and were soon in trouble at 3-31. The Kangaroos were able to put on a bit of partnership, but lost two quick wickets.
In the end they fell well short, finishing 7-125.
Jordan Kosteas top scored with 28 not out off 18 balls.
Max Birthisel, Ben Roosenboom and Abhishek Beniwal took two wickets each.
The win moves the Bulldogs up to third in their pool group, while the Kangaroos sit bottom.
Footscray faces Essendon next Tuesday in round three, while the Kangaroos host Geelong.
