The Hume City Broncos have locked in their first women’s import for next year’s Big V championship season.
Kenna Holt, a standout player at Bishop Manogue High in America who spent two seasons as a scholarship player for the Nevada Wolf Pack, has committed to the Broncos for 2025.
A 5-foot-8 guard, Holt was seen as one of the team’s most high-energy players and an above-average defender.
As a sophomore during the 2022 season, Holt appeared in all 29 regular-season games.
Holt won four straight Sierra League titles with Bishop Manogue and a 2017 regional championship. She scored 1257 points in 82 games in high school, adding 278 assists.
She was a two-time Sierra League player of the year and was named second-team all-state twice.
Holt ranks 10th in Nevada high school history in made 3-pointers (173) and steals (349) among large-class players.
Broncos coach Brooke Davenport is excited about Holt’s signing.
“I’m really pleased to add Kenna to our team,” she said.
“She participated in a couple of our team practices earlier this year when she visited Australia and I know that the energy and hustle she brings will be infectious and galvanise our efforts at both ends of the floor.
“Most importantly, Kenna is a quality person both on and off the floor and she will be a positive influence on the team and her team-mates.”
Holt joins returning players Tashia Overby, Alex Mackellar, Ellen Wright, Genevieve Mucha, Samantha Labros and Georgia Keighran on the Broncos roster so far.
The club said it was still looking at other recruitment options.
