Back-to-back T20 titles for Westmeadows

Westmeadows has claimed a second straight North West Metropolitan Cricket Association T20 title.

Having won their first T20 title last year, the Warriors were keen to go back-to-back with victory against Jacana 2 on Tuesday night.

Winning the toss, the Warriors made 5-148 from their 20 overs, with all but one batsman getting a start.

Riley Thompson top scored with 41 not out, while Darrel Brown made 30 at the top of the order.

The Warriors then bowled the Jaguars out for 121 with four balls remaining.

The win means the Warriors will again be part of the Cricket Victoria Regional Big Bash finals, with the grand final to be played on the MCG.

For the Warriors, their attention returns to the Victorian Turf Cricket Association division 1 north season.

The Warriors sitting third, the Warriors are in control after day one of their match with Royal/Brunswick.

The Warriors have already claimed first innings points. They are 4-112 in reply to Royal Park’s 102.

The Warriors might need an outright win to claim a finals spot with fourth placed Haig Fawkner having already claimed first innings points and PEGS in control of their match against Keilor Park.
