It was a winning return to the field for Rivergum in the North Metro Cricket Association Jika Shield. After not playing since the first day of the season due to rain and the condition of grounds, the Kookas faced Old Ivanhoe on Saturday. Old Ivanhoe made 9-156 from its overs with Matt Perri taking three wickets. The Kookas finished 4-158 in reply with Perri finishing 97 not out.

NWMCA

Gladstone Park had a strong win against Pascoe Vale Central in the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association George Luscombe Shield. Pascoe Vale made 5-263 from its overs, with the Burras making 7-268 in reply. After six rounds, Gladstone Park sits on top of the ladder with three wins from the three matches it has played. The Burras face Aberfeldie St Johns this Saturday. In the Athol Attwater Shield on Saturday, Hume beat Oak Park and RMIT was too strong for the Northern Lions.

Bowls

Bundoora RSL had a convincing win against Clayton in the Bowls Victoria weekend pennant premier division. Bundoora won three of the four rinks and shared the points in the other, to beat Clayton 81 (17)-66 (1). Corey Wedlock, Gary Kelly and Dean O’Neill were the winning skips for Bundoora. After five rounds, Bundoora sits third on the table. This week Bundoora faces Deer Park on Sunday.

VSDCA

Plenty Valley got its first win of the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association north-south season on Saturday. Facing Moorabbin, the Bats restricted Moorabbin to 141. Simon Black was the pick of the bowlers, taking 5-17. The Bats got the runs with ease, finishing 4-143. Nathan Sharma top scored with 45 at the top of the order. The Bats this weekend face Plenty Valley and Caulfield in two one-dayers.
