Children from across the Whittlesea area were given the chance to further develop their skills at a Harmony in Cricket clinic last week.
The Cricket Victoria clinic was held at Laurimar, in conjunction with the Melbourne Renegades.
Cricket Australia’s Wayne Schultz said 80 people attended the clinic including many from Diamond Valley and North Metro cricket associations.
“Cricket Victoria’s Harmony in Cricket celebrates the message that cricket is a game for everyone,” Schultz said.
“CV proudly acknowledge that Victorian cricket clubs are a place where everybody, regardless of their cultural background, religion, gender, age or ability feels welcome.
“The focus was to give students another opportunity to further development their skills whilst having fun in cricket.
“They also got to experience a T20 Blast match which is related to the Big Bash League.
“It’s a great opportunity for many who don’t currently play cricket to get involved while the World Cup is on.”
A new eight-week T20 Blast season will be held at South Morang in February and March.
