Three wickets was all Bundoora could manage on the final day of its Barclay Shield season, going down to Rosanna in the Diamond Valley Cricket Association.
Bundoora was bowled out for 162, with skipper Andrew Fairchild’s 54 the only major score.
It was always going to be a small total to defend, and despite a positive start with the ball – Rosanna opener Stephen Ryan was run out for five – Bundoora couldn’t stop its opponent from coasting to victory.
A 67-run stand between Nick Carlton (52) and Scott Dunbar got Rosanna half way there before Carlton was caught. By the time the third wicket fell, Dunbar for 56, Rosanna was only 11 runs short of victory. Sam Sheehan (33 not out) and Afan Sheriff (8 not out) were there at the end when Rosanna claimed a seven-wicket win.
In the Money Shield, Lalor Stars won against Camrea Taipans. After posting 278 on day one, the Stars needed only 47.3 overs to roll Camrea for 144. Aaron Amos was the star with 4-42 while Leigh Marshall impressed with 2-6 from 6.3 overs.
