BUNDOORA United’s hopes of finishing second in Victorian Women’s
Premier League suffered a blow on Friday night after it gave up a 3-1
lead to draw 3-3 with Casey Comets.
The draw leaves Bundoora (40 points) fourth behind South Melbourne
(52), Sandringham (44) and Box Hill (43) but with a game in hand.
Casey led 1-0 early at Casey Fields but Enza Barilla’s goal just after the half-hour had Bundoora on level terms.
Caitlin Friend put Bundoora in front four minutes into the second half before Gulcan Koca made it 3-1 in the 53rd minute.
But Casey pegged a goal back two minutes later and managed a late
equaliser when Jaymee Dudley pounced on the rebound after a save from
Bundoora goalkeeper Amelia van der Niet.
