WPL: Bundoora United ready for finals

GOALS in quick succession to Caitlin Friend and Sarah Richardson kept Bundoora United on track for Women’s Premier League finals with a 2-0 win against Heidelberg on Saturday.

Friend’s strike in the 52nd minute was followed by Richardson’s goal on the hour to decide the contest.

Bundoora (33 points) is now seven points clear in the top five with seven rounds remaining.

In men’s state league 3 north-west, Hume United fell 10 points adrift in the relegation zone after a 4-0 loss to Geelong.

In state 5 north, Bundoora United’s men won 3-1 against Parkville, while Keon Park beat Light United 2-1.
