Last week the Childs Road Upgrade team, along with Wurundjeri Elders and the Darebin Creek Management Committee, ran a culture workshop at Lalor North Secondary College to help connect the students to where they live.
Students performed a welcome song before Uncle David Wandin did a Welcome to Country.
They then did a walking tour along Darebin Creek, and learned how to catch water bugs with management committee representatives.
The winter drizzle was no dampener – students had a great time learning more about Aboriginal culture at such a local level.
