Is this a new world record?

Years 3-5 pupils from Marymede Catholic College and St Joseph’s, St Paul the Apostle and St Mary’s primary schools got together recently in a bid to break the world record for the largest gathering of people dressed as Albert Einstein.

The current world record is 304 people and is held by a school in California.

The Whittlesea record attempt involved 541 children donning white wigs and moustaches on August 16.

Marymede Catholic College registrar Matthew Luczek said the schools chose to attempt to break the Albert Einstein word record because they thought it was unique.

“It also provided us with a great opportunity to celebrate Science Week, of which this year’s theme was game changers and change makers.”

The schools will now send details, photographs and videos of their attempt to the Guinness Book of World Records for verification.
