Worker dies following Wollert truck accident

A truck driver has died after he was crushed by a tipper trailer in Wollert on Friday.

It is understood the 59-year-old was working to free a pneumatic strut on the trailer after delivering a load to a construction site about 2.15pm when the tipper lowered onto him.

WorkSafe is investigating.

WorkSafe said this is the seventh truck-related workplace fatality in 2022. It takes the total workplace fatality toll to 32, 10 fewer than at same time last year.
