Woodstock fire contained

A Woodstock fire is now under control after several CFA crews attended the scene.

A grassfire at Woodstock is now under control after it broke out earlier today under hot conditions.

Country Fire Authority (CFA) crews responded to reports of a fire at around 11.37am on Grants Road in Woodstock, where the fire was travelling in a south-easterly direction from Grants Road towards Donnybrook Road.

Twenty-four CFA units from several brigades attended the scene, with Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria on hand to help. Upon arrival, crews identified an active grass and scrub fire and quickly commenced containment efforts.

Crews used air attack support and machinery to assist ground crews. The incident was deemed under control at 12.45pm, after approximately five hectares had been burnt.

A watch and act – Stay Near Shelter was issued for Woodstock at 12:24 pm – which is no longer current.

Crews remain on scene performing blacking out duties.
