A woman has died after being hit by a bus in Tullamarine.
Police believe the woman was crossing Mickleham Road at pedestrian lights near the entry ramp to the Tullamarine Freeway about 5.30am, when she was hit by a bus travelling south along Mickleham Road.
The woman, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The driver of the bus is assisting police with the enquiries.
Police believe there were no passengers on the bus at the time of incident.

Police wish to speak to the driver of a truck who pulled over and spoke briefly to the bus driver before leaving the scene.
The Mickleham Road inbound entry ramp to the Tullamarine Freeway remains closed.
Motorists can access the freeway and M80 Ring Road via Melrose Drive.
