Police have charged a Gladstone Park woman after she allegedly attempted to avoid police in Melbourne’s northern suburbs on Wednesday.
A grey Toyota Hilux was allegedly seen speeding near the intersection of Mount Alexander and Maribyrnong roads in Ascot Vale about 3.35am.
Police attempted to intercept the car but the driver sped off.
The Air Wing was called in and followed the vehicle from overhead as it was driven through several suburbs before being dumped in Egginton St, Brunswick West.
The driver fled the scene on foot.
A 45-year-old Gladstone Park woman was arrested a short time later.
She has been charged with driving manner dangerous, driving speed dangerous, theft of motor vehicle, possessing drug of dependence, trafficking drug of dependence and other offences.
The woman was set to appear in court on Wednesday afternoon.
