Woman arrested after fatal collision

A woman has been arrested after her car collided head-on with another, killing the male driver in Whittlesea.

The male driver who is yet to be formally identified was declared deceased at the scene of the collision on Grants Road about 5pm on Sunday January 25.

The female driver of the second vehicle allegedly left the scene after getting picked up in another vehicle.

She was arrested a short time later nearby and has been taken to hospital to be treated for injuries sustained during the collision under police guard.

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
