Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after the rider of a blue quad bike failed to stop for police in Meadow Heights yesterday afternoon.
Police said the Air Wing first observed two scooter motorbikes and a quad bike riding along Broadmeadows Valley Trail about 3.35pm.
The vehicles were travelling north and forcing pedestrians off the pathway, police said.
After the riders split up, the Air Wing followed the quad bike.
Police said the rider of the quad bike collided with a stationary police vehicle before speeding off.
Police pursued the bike for a short distance but stopped due to safety concerns.
The quad bike was last seen travelling on Shankland Boulevard, where it allegedly veered on the wrong side of the road.
One scooter rider was later located by police and his vehicle was impounded.
The male teen is expected to be charged on summons with several traffic offences including unlicensed driving.
Officers seized the second scooter which had been left unoccupied.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the trio riding along the trail, or who has dashcam footage, to come forward to police.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
