A Bundoora man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a multi-vehicle collision in Laverton North yesterday.

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following the incident which occurred on Little Boundary Road about 3.10pm.

Westgate Highway Patrol officers believe a blue Holden Commodore ute travelling west on the road collided with a stationary white Hilux ute.

Police said the white ute was propelled over the median strip and landed on its roof.

The blue Commodore then collided with a grey Subaru, a grey Nissan 4WD and a silver Lexus sedan.

A 26-year-old Bundoora man, who was driving the Commodore, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The female driver of the white Hilux was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Paramedics treated the drivers of the other vehicles at the scene.

Police are working to determine the exact circumstances of the collision.
