Whittlesea has launched an online Disability Network Hub to support those living with disability.
The hub is an online space where people with a disability, their carers, and service providers, can provide feedback to council on what they need to live independently and safely in the community.
Whittlesea’s chair administrator Lydia Wilson said the hub was another way the council was supporting people in the community.
“Ensuring we have two-way communication with people with disability and their community is a crucial aspect of our Whittlesea 2040 vision – to create a place for all,” Ms Wilson said.
“Providing this online space will help us better understand the needs of this group of people in our community and allow them to have their say.”
The Whittlesea Disability Network Hub will give community members the opportunity to comment about accessibility in local spaces, disability services and support needs, council programs, and any issues that need addressing within the community.
Whittlesea council will continue to develop the platform in consultation with those living with disability and their networks.
“This is one of many steps we will be taking to support positive conversations and work together to make our community a more accessible place for people with disability,” Ms Wilson said
