The Whittlesea Country Music Festival is back for its 22nd year, offering locals a night of free family entertainment.
The festival kicks off on Friday, February 3 with a classic car parade down Church Street followed by music from the Gami Gami Devils Band and Pink Envy at the Whittlesea Bowls Club.
The festival’s vice president Dave Watson said the event brings the local community together.
“The Whittlesea Country Music Festival is one of the rare opportunities where families can get together and have a good night,“ he said.
“It’s also about providing an opportunity to get people back to work after COVID including the artists and sound engineers, as well as the local clubs and Rotary who all get a chance to make some money.
“The event supports the whole community.“
Mr Watson said while the festival started 22 years ago, the tradition of sharing country music with the community has stayed constant.
“We want to expose [the community] to the country music so they get a better appreciate the music,“ he said.
The festival is run solely by volunteers and aims to bring a vast variety of musical styles and talent to the local community.
