Whittlesea council wants residents’ say

Whittlesea council is inviting residents to have their say on priority issues, as part of its annual Community Priorities consultation.

The consultation, now open, aims to capture the community’s top priorities to guide future planning and investment across the municipality.

Feedback gathered will aim to play a key role in shaping the 2026-27 budget, the community action plan, and the next stage of the strong local economy strategy.

Together, these documents set out how council will invest in essential services, deliver key infrastructure, and support a growing and inclusive economy.

Mayor Martin Taylor said community input was vital to ensuring council’s plans reflect local needs.

“I encourage our residents to tell us what is most important to you. Your feedback will help inform a range of important documents and help us plan for the future,” Cr Taylor said.

“Our annual Community Priorities is an important way for us to track any changes in what our community wants us to focus on, and we can then plan accordingly.”

Residents are encouraged to share their views online or by attending one of the community pop-up sessions being held across the municipality. Those interested in contributing more detailed insights can also register to take part in a focus group.

The first phase of consultation is open until Tuesday, September 30.

For more information, to provide feedback, or to find out when and where pop-up sessions are being held, visit engage.whittlesea.vic.gov.au/cp2026.
