Daman Shrivastav has been celebrated by Whittlesea council as the 2021 Citizen of the Year.
In a post to the council’s Facebook page, Mr Shrivastav’s efforts throughout the year were applauded.
“Daman’s outstanding efforts saw him provide free meals and food to international students and others in need within our community during the pandemic,” the post said.
“Congratulations and thank you for your outstanding contribution Daman!”
The honour is part of the City of Whittlesea Community Awards, which recognised local heroes going above and beyond to help their local community.
