The federal government will provide Victoria with 130,000 extra COVID vaccines to speed up vaccinations across the state, including in the City of Whittlesea.
In a statement, Health Minister Greg Hunt said the government would release 40,000 doses this week and an additional 15,000 doses each week for six weeks.
Mr Hunt also revealed that all 16 residential aged care facilities in Whittlesea are fully vaccinated.
Sixty-six of the 67 aged care facilities in Hume, Banyule, Darebin, Moreland and Nilliumbik have received at least one dose of the vaccine, with the final facility to receive their first dose clinic this week.
Across the state, 569 residential aged care facilities have received a first dose clinic while 361 are fully vaccinated.
There are 598 residential aged care facilities in Victoria.
