On Saturday, June 18 from 10am-1pm there will be a garden tour and BBQ lunch out in Westmeadows.
In 2021, Jo Russell, with support from the Hume Enviro Champions program and council, began an Indigenous food, fiber and medicine garden on site through a community planting day.
This year indigenous planting will be added with the help of volunteers from the Enviro Champions program and community. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the cultural uses for indigenous plants and also to meet this year’s Enviro Champions and hear about their ideas to make Hume cleaner, greener and more sustainable place.
During the day the Vardos musical trio will be roaming around the garden filling spaces with the sweet sounds of Romany and Folk tunes. If you hear Alana’s wild violin, following close behind will be the accordion and double base.
Garden members will be providing tours of the garden before lunch. There will be a BBQ lunch with vegetarian and gluten free options.
Registrations are essential to assist with numbers for catering.
