Western Ring Road delays

Motorists are being warned to expect significant delays on the Western Ring Road (M80) near Glenroy, with planned maintenance works set to run for a full year.

The Department of Transport and Planning has advised lane closures will take place in multiple directions between August 29, 2025 and August 31, 2026. Drivers should expect to prepare for delays of more than 10 minutes, with reduced speed limits of 60 km/h in place during works.

Maintenance activities will occur on weekdays from 9.30am to 3.30pm, and on weekends from 7am to 6pm. The works will include road, roadside and environmental maintenance along the busy metropolitan corridor.

Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes where possible.
