Walking the walk to Whittlesea on climate threat

Whittlesea township will be the first stop on a 700-kilometre walk from Coburg to Canberra for Coburg North’s Shannon Loughnane.

Mr Loughnane will arrive in Whittlesea on April 20 to speak with locals about climate change.

He is hoping to reach Canberra on May 14 to submit a petition calling for action on climate change – including a cut in energy emissions – to Parliament.

“The need for action is urgent,” he said. “I’m aware the federal election is coming up so I want to try and make a difference.”
