More trains will stop at Donnybrook as new high VLocity trains start traveling to and from Shepparton for the first time this month.

The state government announced that the new trains would run on the line from October 23.

The VLocity is the newest and fastest train in the V/Line fleet with improved features like mobile signal boosters and better accessibility.

Transport Infrastructure Minister Jacinta Allan said this is an improvement made possible by the Shepparton line upgrade and an investment in new Vlocity trains.

New timetables will change the arrival and departure times and provide more stops at a number of stations including Donnybrook.

Platform extensions to accommodate longer VLocity trains have been completed at a number of stations on the line, while 14 level crossing upgrades on the line were also completed.

“With extra services and better stations already delivered, these trains are the next phase in our complete overhaul of the Shepparton line – and there’s more to come,” Ms Allan said.
