Six postcodes in Hume and Whittlesea will be among 27 areas prioritised as part of a state government vaccination push.
Premier Daniel Andrews this morning announced that the state’s vaccination program will focus on lifting jab rates in suburbs where the current first dose coverage rate is under 75 per cent.
The aim is raise vaccination rates to 80 per cent and beyond.
Postcodes 3047 (Broadmeadows), 3048 (Coolaroo), 3061 (Campbellfield), 3074 (Thomastown), 3075 (Lalor) and 3076 (Epping) will be included in the program.
The state government will also begin publishing vaccination data by postcode.
It comes as 304 of the new COVID-19 cases reported today were recorded in Hume and 180 in Whittlesea.
