Two men charged after Craigieburn home invasion, Broadmeadows burglary

Detectives from Taskforce Lunar have charged two men following a series of incidents allegedly linked to an organised crime syndicate, including an aggravated home invasion in Craigieburn and a burglary in Broadmeadows earlier this year.

Warrants were executed at homes in Kalkallo and Keilor Downs on Thursday, August 28, with assistance from the VIPER Taskforce and Mill Park Divisional Response Unit.

A 32-year-old Kalkallo man was arrested and charged with aggravated home invasion, burglary, theft and drug offences. He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 29.

A 36-year-old Keilor Downs man was charged with possessing a drug of dependence and bailed to face court on December 18.

Police seized two vehicles, ballistic vests, cloned number plates, more than 3000 illicit vapes, steroids and allegedly stolen property.

On Tuesday, July 15,police seized a number of devices as part of the investigation and uncovered evidence of two alleged incidents on June 24 including an aggravated home invasion in Craigieburn and a burglary at a business premises in Broadmeadow, with neither incidents being reported at the time they occurred.

The investigation into these incidents and the organised crime syndicate remains ongoing.
