Two men have been arrested and drugs worth more than $1 million have been seized by police during raids across the northern suburbs.

Mill Park police executed a number of warrants this week as part of an ongoing drug operation targeting cannabis cultivation.

A 31-year-old South Morang man was arrested on May 15.

He was charged with multiple offences including cultivating a commercial quantity of drugs and possessing and trafficking a drug of dependence.

A 67-year-old man from Epping was arrested and charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of drugs, possessing a drug of dependence and theft-related offences.

Both men have been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court today.

Sergeant Dave Shannon said police conservatively estimated the street value of the drugs seized to be more than $1 million.

“This is a significant win for both Victoria Police and the community and will place a considerable dent in the illicit performance enhancing drug trade across the state of Victoria, if not the country,” he said.
