Two dead in Thomastown crash

Police are investigating a fatal collision in Thomastown that claimed the lives of two people on Wednesday, April 16.

Emergency services were called to High Street about 12.50pm following reports a motorbike and a car had collided.

The rider and their pillion passenger, who are yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

The occupants of the car were not seriously injured.

Police checks have revealed the motorbike – a black and red BMW without registration plates – had been stolen from outside a Gale Street property in Brunswick East on April 14.

The exact circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
